Hole 13 is getting close to being playable. White tee box and some of the fairway now visable.

Hello,
Dave and Joe are really in charge of putting the course together as they've stated. We just run the events and offer the forum.

Hopefully with agreement from Joe and a little help from a few players we can rip out basket #1 and move it somewhere else. I heard that Joe got approval from the town to put in some holes after hole #3 which would be great. HOle 4 might have to be scrapped for the time being as it's the only walkway to that side of the course and I wouldnt' want players getting hit while trying to walk to #2.

My idea is to really utilize the field and completely redesign hole 18. we could easily fit 3 nice size holes in the field section even with the water being up so high. that would allow us to eliminate hole 1 and have an extra hole to replace 13, 15, or whatever holes are still unplayable.

Hello,
I was at the course on June 17th and it's getting dryer, but the lake is still very high. In may the water was up to the top of the 1st basket's tub. Now you can see the bottom of the tub.
It dosen't look like we will be able to play the first hole for awhile, but you can now play....
2 (only from the white tees and a very tight fairway thanks to the lake), 3, 4 (only from white) thru 12. Both tees at 13 are completly under water so I still haven't even tried to go back there but I'm pretty sure 15 and 16 are still unplayable and the lake is still covering 18's tee and alot of fairway. I miss playing the whole course but I've been playing parts of the front nine all spring. Hope to see everyone out there.

water receeded a few inches..1 unplayable..2 playable from alternate tee..3,4,5,6 playable..7 playable if you dont mind throwing entirely over water..8 is now dry but bridge has not been re installed..9 is playable with a 2 foot island green also the last guardian tree is now down due to the flooding..10,11,12 playable..13 unplayable..14 playable..15 unplayable..16,17 playable and 18 is playable from alternate tees..this is tim gannotta (problems call me directly 856 982 5320)

The course is still unplayable. There might be 9 playable holes, but it's doubtful. From what I've seen through photos others have taken the course has gotten worse since the winter.

We might not be able to have an event there until July

Welcome to the forum and thx for the input on Crystal Lakes DGC!!
I haven't been to the park since December. I don't want to get depressed if I actually go there. I've seen pictures, but I'm sure I'd be upset if I saw it with my own eyes.

Luckily Landis has held up to all the rain and snow Perfectly! Every time I've played there this year the ground has been dry including the teepads. I can't wait for Crystal Lakes to dry up though. That'll be a great day when we can play the course again.

I wonder if we might want to consider some type of redesign with temp baskets just to get at least a full 9 hole course there for now???

Went to Crystal lake DGC yesterday. The lake has completely swallowed hole 1 and hole 15 is also under water. Its pretty bad out there atm. Played maybe half the course and still had a good time. Can't wait for the course to dry up.

I'd love to, but I actually have to work that day. I only work 2 days this week and they are friday and saturday.

I have enough to do here anyway. I just picked up an Epson 1400 printer and can't wait to try it out. I've never owned a wide format printer (prints 13" wide) so this should be fun .

Landis Park

So Landis Park is handling the snow and rain really well. We played there today and the course was relatively dry. Only a few tee pads were slippery compared to SoVi which is completely unplayable.

On a side note Nick shot a new course record for combined rounds (both red). He shot a -10 and -11 giving him a -21 combined and a total of 87 (par is 108). I only shot a -9 total (99).

Drove by Sovi today, hole one basket bottom is about 2 inches from touching water. 2 yellow in under water. Snow on 5, 6 fairway. 7-10 trenches are filled with water. The dock is probably 18 inches under water. Its pretty bad out there. Try to get some pictures of it tomorrow.

Landis isn't too bad 80% land 10% mud and 10% snow. Probably gonna go throw after work.

I am still without transportation to Vineland. Any Updates on Crystal Lakes DGC @ SoVi Park???
With all the new precipitation coming I'm sure any improvements to the course condition will be thwarted, but what's the condition of the course?
Can anyone get some pictures up on the forum???

Just in case anyone wanted to play Crystal Lakes DGC anytime soon...

It's almost completely flooded. only 4-5 holes are truly playable.

We have been playing landis for now until the course can soak up all the excess water. Luckily Landis has done a great job soaking up all the extra rainfall and snow.

next time I get out to Vineland I'll try to take pictures of SoVi park so everyone can see how bad it is.

well the problem is:
Who do we go to to get tee signs?
who is the person/authority that says the Course is complete and how it should be?
Do we go to Dave/Joe to talk about signs or do we go right to the town?

that's some problems I can think of.
I'd definitely rather have some sort of tee signs before we get cement pads. Those are the 2 things that we need most on the course.

Where are the steps located on hole #2? Are they on the main entrance (between the two tree groupings) of the fairway, or on the right hillside perpendicular from the hole?

The course needs tee signs. What's the problem? Unless major revamping is in the plans.

Just wanted to post up an update on SoVi.

New steps were added to hole 2. They look great and should keep down the erosion on that hill.

Steps were added to hole 7 on the left side of the fairway. These are awesome as well. I am not sure if there are going to be steps leading down to the otherside(as there shouldn't be a need). If they are being made I hope that Holes 8 and 9 aren't being removed. Seeing how the town owns the baskets I would think this wouldn't be possible to remove 2 holes.

The course is looking great and THANK YOU to anyone that has been working on it.

We should try to get a work party together maybe before the disc golf season next year. I play all year, but I know many don't play in the winter.

I wanted to get out for a workday Sunday to help get the course ready for the tournament. Unfortunately my car felt otherwise about the situation. I have a coolant leak and I didn't want to risk getting stuck out in Vineland.

If anyone is going to be out This week PLEASE rake the Teepads at least. I wish we could rake the fairways/walkways that have dangerous stumps to avoid People stumbling and getting hurt.

With all the leaves falling down it's easier to see where most of the pricker bushes are. I think before the tournament we should do some trimming of prickers that have grown into the fairways and possibly any branches that are starting to hang/shrink gaps too small.

Could anyone talk to Dave or Joe about a workday before the tournament???

So yeah. most of us have seen what happened. Someone cut down the little tree in the fairway of 9 with a CHAINSAW. I don't know who did that, but that was the stupidest thing to do. That makes the hole too easy now.
