Just wanted to post an update from what has been modified in the park since the Ice Bowl:
update 3-02-08
-The town put in a new gate to replace the one that was knocked down last year. The gate closes off cars from driving towards the "back 9" holes and keeps paintballers from driving back into the woods and parking on the course. The gate has a permanent gap to allow people through even when the gate is locked. This will help to keep people from driving on the course a little bit.
- Dave Adams was out recently installing arrows to the poles of each basket. These arrows are bracketed in under the basket and they show the way towards the next tee. Since we haven't put any consideration into permanent tee signs yet This will really help the course out. New players will finally be able to play the course, hopefully without getting lost, and it makes the course look more organized and complete. Hopefully these arrows will keep down the complaints that players can't find their way around the course.

I'm interested to see the course -- I haven't seen it in a couple years back when it was first started -- seems like the people that I've talked to that have played it recently are very impressed.

Wow -- that's one fabulous course you have going there. I was stunned at the amount of effort/work everyone's put in down there. O

My friend Adam and I played SoVi yesterday. I must say I am very impressed with the course. Very nice layout around the lake with all types of distances and elevation clanges. I almost aced hole 16 yellow over paintball alley. I hit the basket, but it did not go in. I'm definately coming back. It's only a 40 minute drive from Philly.
Congrats to all on their hard work on the course!

Hello Becky and welcome to the Forum!
I'm glad you like the course so far. A lot of work has been put into the course, especially in the last year. Joe Spatafore goes out on almost all of his days off to work on the course. Dave and Joe are also currently working on a few more holes on the other side of the lake. I haven't seen them recently, but those will be some interesting holes.
16 is the basket to ace right now. Jay Tiligadas got the first one on that from yellow and I've hit pole twice. Definitely a fun hole. I like 17 white myself for aces, but if you go to far you are not getting a par.
I also live about 40minutes away from the course(i live in EHT) and I'm glad that it's worth the trip for you as well.
You should come out on sundays as we are starting our Spring league. We are also trying to have our SJDGC SPRING FLING on 4-26 so Keep in touch for more info!.

SoVi will now be called Crystal Lakes DGC at SoVi Park.
Crystal lakes is a more appealing name and SoVi was merely the name of the park. Just as Buzzzy's Creek DGC is played in Brown's Point park, Crystal Lakes DGC is in South Vineland Park.
The name will also draw in more players who are finding our course via internet and especially the PDGA.
We are working on Disc Designs for the course and a Mini Design for each course. We should have a Tournament Fund Raiser Disc out in the next month.
