Hello,
Dave and Joe are really in charge of putting the course together as they've stated. We just run the events and offer the forum.

Hopefully with agreement from Joe and a little help from a few players we can rip out basket #1 and move it somewhere else. I heard that Joe got approval from the town to put in some holes after hole #3 which would be great. HOle 4 might have to be scrapped for the time being as it's the only walkway to that side of the course and I wouldnt' want players getting hit while trying to walk to #2.

My idea is to really utilize the field and completely redesign hole 18. we could easily fit 3 nice size holes in the field section even with the water being up so high. that would allow us to eliminate hole 1 and have an extra hole to replace 13, 15, or whatever holes are still unplayable.

hello,
I was trying to put together the Landis Park Luau 2010 for August 8 or August 15. Unfortunately I missed the PDGA submission deadline for the 8th and I am going to be at the Muddy Rivers Music Festival from the 13-15.

I will probably push the Luau into september while it's still decently warm out and we will be running the Vineland Open in November again. The Vineland Open will be a PDGA event and I am trying to make the Luau a PDGA event as well.

I am moving into Richland at the end of the month so I will now only be about 15mins from both courses. With that in mind Tim and I might try and pick up the insurance for the courses this year and starting running Tags/Monthlies again!

I'll try to keep everyone posted. I'm getting ready to move and I've been feeling like doodoo lately so I haven't been making much of an online presence lately.

Local Tournaments

Are there any tournaments being played at the Landis course or something at Cyrstal Lake.
I know it's still flooded at the lake but alot of the holes are drying up. Any thought of temperaly moving some of the holes to get 18 playable holes?

Hello,
I was at the course on June 17th and it's getting dryer, but the lake is still very high. In may the water was up to the top of the 1st basket's tub. Now you can see the bottom of the tub.
It dosen't look like we will be able to play the first hole for awhile, but you can now play....
2 (only from the white tees and a very tight fairway thanks to the lake), 3, 4 (only from white) thru 12. Both tees at 13 are completly under water so I still haven't even tried to go back there but I'm pretty sure 15 and 16 are still unplayable and the lake is still covering 18's tee and alot of fairway. I miss playing the whole course but I've been playing parts of the front nine all spring. Hope to see everyone out there.

Got my Firs Skip ace Ever.
Landis Park hole 15 from Red. Threw a Teerex to stay under the tree that is really hanging down low. Skipped right into the basket.

Had a Great Day at Landis Park on Sunday.

Got my first skip ace (it was a second drive so it didn't count towards my round).

Also shot a -8 from red
-1 from yellow (With a double circle 7)
a -9 from Red
and a -9 from yellow

Shot a -27 for the day!

Not too shabby. The only downside was that I dinked about 9 putts inside 30 feet. otherwise a very very solid day!

I should be at the course today(wednesday 5/05/10). I think I might be heading out with my brother, but if he isn't gonna come I"m still going out.

Probably gonna be at the course by 3 at the latest and probably play till dark.

water receeded a few inches..1 unplayable..2 playable from alternate tee..3,4,5,6 playable..7 playable if you dont mind throwing entirely over water..8 is now dry but bridge has not been re installed..9 is playable with a 2 foot island green also the last guardian tree is now down due to the flooding..10,11,12 playable..13 unplayable..14 playable..15 unplayable..16,17 playable and 18 is playable from alternate tees..this is tim gannotta (problems call me directly 856 982 5320)

The course is still unplayable. There might be 9 playable holes, but it's doubtful. From what I've seen through photos others have taken the course has gotten worse since the winter.

We might not be able to have an event there until July

We didn't get the insurance certificate we needed to run the Event on 3/27/10 so we have to CANCEL the event.

I am sorry to anyone who was planning on coming down for that event. On a side note There is a Philly Monthly that day so You can at least play there that day. I will probably be at the monthly playing some disc golf and selling shirts.

The weather is going to be gorgeous this weekend. I'd love to make it out to the course(s) Saturday and Sunday, but I have work until 2pm Saturday and I do have a few things I want to do before the weekend is over.

I will most definitely be out at Landis Park on Sunday. I would love to start getting a tag league going again and Sundays work well for me as it's my day off from work already. If anyone wants to come out and discuss the possibilities of tags that would be great. I have been playing mostly by myself lately so I'd love to have some other people to pace myself. That way when I finally get my ace this month I'll have a witness! i already chained out twice this month (hole 4 at Philly and Hole 6 red at Landis) and I'm itching for another ace.

I'll be out Sunday with all of my extra discs as well as my tub of shirts. I'm working on printing up at least 2 more designs this weekend so Please bring some cash if you want some shirts!!

Welcome to the forum and thx for the input on Crystal Lakes DGC!!
I haven't been to the park since December. I don't want to get depressed if I actually go there. I've seen pictures, but I'm sure I'd be upset if I saw it with my own eyes.

Luckily Landis has held up to all the rain and snow Perfectly! Every time I've played there this year the ground has been dry including the teepads. I can't wait for Crystal Lakes to dry up though. That'll be a great day when we can play the course again.

I wonder if we might want to consider some type of redesign with temp baskets just to get at least a full 9 hole course there for now???

Went to Crystal lake DGC yesterday. The lake has completely swallowed hole 1 and hole 15 is also under water. Its pretty bad out there atm. Played maybe half the course and still had a good time. Can't wait for the course to dry up.

I shot an unofficial course record (And my personal Record) of -8 from yellow.
Then 40 minutes later Nick finished his round with a -9!!! So far that's the Unofficial Record from Yellow!!

I just checked the Sedgley woods forum and their Monthly is also slated for the 27th. Is this going to cause a problem for us? The reason for having the warm up is to get the Philly players out to our course to play some disc golf. If they are having a monthly on the same day I highly doubt any of them will come out to play, especially because we will have to play Landis (SoVi is still completely flooded).

Any thoughts??

I'd love to, but I actually have to work that day. I only work 2 days this week and they are friday and saturday.

I have enough to do here anyway. I just picked up an Epson 1400 printer and can't wait to try it out. I've never owned a wide format printer (prints 13" wide) so this should be fun .

****Landis is COMPLETELY PLAYABLE!!! ****

So Landis Park is handling the snow and rain really well. We played there today and the course was relatively dry. Only a few tee pads were slippery compared to SoVi which is completely unplayable.

On a side note Nick shot a new course record for combined rounds (both red). He shot a -10 and -11 giving him a -21 combined and a total of 87 (par is 108). I only shot a -9 total (99).

Drove by Sovi today, hole one basket bottom is about 2 inches from touching water. 2 yellow in under water. Snow on 5, 6 fairway. 7-10 trenches are filled with water. The dock is probably 18 inches under water. Its pretty bad out there. Try to get some pictures of it tomorrow.

Landis isn't too bad 80% land 10% mud and 10% snow. Probably gonna go throw after work.

thx.. I have been on there, but Unfortunately my membership is still being authorized. I used to have an account there years ago, but wanted to start a new one. It's been well over a week and I haven't received a confirmation email about my account yet.

I wanted to post on there that our Monthly on Sunday is cancelled.. Our Schedule wasn't actually supposed to be posted on the MADC site, but I think BOB did it as a courtesy at the MADC meeting a month or 2 ago.

we are still working putting a newer schedule together since our last one wasn't official.

Still thinking of going out to the Brandywine IB tomorrow!!

I was supposed to be going up to the Warwick IB, but it's a hike and I'm strapped for cash. I might consider seeing if I can get Nick to drive me out to Brandywine. Never played the course so it should be a good time.

NY states was originally scheduled for the 24th with the Mighty Gaw on the 25th. I was gonna play both as Warwick is my old stomping grounds and it'll be my birthday weekend!!

I definitely want to get to more courses this year though. I'll have to visit another time.

Its in DELAWARE , but i wont be there i have to work , oh well such is life , man there isnt alot of action on this forum , then again i am ony 5 minutes from delaware , where im sure most of you are close to vineland , ive played brandywine, lums pond, iron hill ,carousel , white clay and bellvue ( all are disc courses in delaware ) and of course the 9 hole park course here in pennsville , great for beginners .........pretty much open course , well have a good day and keep throwing plastic at metal !

Brandywine Blue Toe Charity Ice and Snow Bowl!

Where: Brandywine Creek State Park

CTP prizes on the course. Also between round CTP contest for Cash and prizes!
$1 Ace (pays $50 for every ace)
Mulligans will be for sale at $5 for one or $8 for two.

I'll definitely try and look into that place. I definitely would like to see more courses being built in the area. Once this site is up and finished I can host all the information for Every course in South Jersey and also have SJDGC possibly be the club for all the courses until they get bigger.

I am still looking for some land a little closer to where I live (Egg Harbor Township). Atlantic Cape Community College has over 200 unused acres. I am not a student there anymore so chances of me being able to propose something to them might not work, but I'm sure there is more land out in Mays Landing that I could look into.

I don't know if this is what your looking for Scott it's just a thought.

There is a lot of land at the old ponderlodge golf course in cape may county. Stockton college or the DEP owns it I believe. Here is a link on google maps:

I found one of the 2color stamped pro katanas at the course after the Vineland Open. I called the owner, but didn't hear back from them. I threw it once at SoVi on hole 5 from yellow and I cleared the park!!!
They aren't as flippy as I thought they would be, but they are definitely fast.

I'm quite content with my teerexes though.. they are fast enough for me. If only I could hold onto one long enough to beat it in. I always seem to lose them on hole 2 from yellow .

Working on getting the information I need together to actually finish up the site. That way it'll be more than just a Forum!!!

Gonna have these sections:
-Calendar (that actually is updated and works)
-Events
-tournament Archives
-Course info
-Player Profiles
-Gallery (users will be able to log in and submit)
-Resources (links, what is DG, Contact us, etc)
-Store (Apparel, Entry Fees, Discs, Accessories)

Things I'm working on right now:
-Most sections are small and easy, but they require i get all the text and photos in one spot so my brother can get them up on the site.

-I have 100+ photos for the gallery right now. I just dug through my computer for the last few hours looking at vids and photos from landis,Sovi, and Stockton College.

-Going to get all the text together for the tournament Archives. That page will be simple, but I just need to get all the text organized so my bro can post it all in website code and whatnot.

- I have all the Info for the Courses Section. Just trying to get it all in one place and also looking for hole by hole pictures and descriptions.

-Resources section is almost done. I have most of the links and contact info in one place already.

-Store is going to take a little bit of work. I might have this section of the site take you to one of my other sites, whether it be hyzerflip.com or silkscreene.com.

That's all for now. Hoping to get all the info I need to get the site finally up and running at least semi-decently!!!

Please post any questions/comments or anything that might help with finishing the site!
